  David Johansen doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, or even rehash his sound with the New York Dolls, on his eponymous solo debut. What he does, however, is deliver a solid album that has few weak moments. Love songs like "Donna," "Pain in My Heart," and "Frenchette," pack quite a wallop.

Nach deren Split veröffentlichte er Ende der `70er zwei Solo-Alben, DAVID JOHANSEN und IN STYLE, und tauchte in verschiedenen Filmen wie in SROOGED mit Bill Murray oder in ALLES AUF SIEG mit Richard Dreyfuss auf.
